Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

Vintage fire truck lit with Christmas lights at nightCity of Washougal kicks off the holiday season with the Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 2! 

During and after the parade, the City is serving complimentary cookies and hot cocoa. Entertainment will include performances from the Washougal High School band and choir. Santa Claus is always the very special guest and will bring up the end of the parade. He will be passing out candy canes and will be available for photos with kids of all ages.

**Due to expected attendance of 500+, masks are required at this event for all inside and outside activities in compliance with Order 20-03.6 on face coverings from the WA Secretary of Health. For more information on this state order, please visit the WA Department of Health FAQ page.**


  • 5-6pm - Selfies with Santa (bring your own camera)
  • 6pm - Parade begins
  • 6:45pm - Tree lighting ceremony in Reflection Plaza & festivities

Participate in the Parade

The City is accepting applications from local businesses, organizations, and community groups to participate in the parade. Entry is free and all floats or groups must be lighted in some fashion. Awards will be given for Best Use of Lights, Best Use of Music and Santa’s Choice.

  • Automobile (single vehicle or car clubs)
  • Walkers
  • Equestrian
