The City of Washougal is now accepting applications from eligible Washougal residents to fill a vacancy in Position #7 on the City Council. The process will be as follows:
Friday, April 13th – Applications due by 5:00 pm to the City Clerk.
Monday, April 23rd – Interviews will take place and appointment may occur at a Regular Council meeting at 7pm.
Due to the timing of this mid-term vacancy, Council Position #7 will be part of the 2019 primary and general election cycle. The individual appointed to Position #7 will serve until the results of the November 2019 general election are certified in late November 2019, at which time the individual elected to Position #7 will take office and serve until the expiration of the Position #7 term at the end of 2023. Position #7 will then be part of the 2023 primary and general election cycle, the regular cycle for the position.
To be eligible to be appointed to the Washougal City Council, you:
- Must have continuously resided within the Washougal city limits for a minimum of one year prior to your appointment to the Council, and
- Must be a registered voter in the City of Washougal.
