Residents of Washougal are invited to attend a series of informational sessions about the proposed Regional Fire Authority (RFA), which will be on the ballot during the special election on April 22, 2025. These sessions provide a chance for the community to hear from subject matter experts, learn about the details of the proposal, and ask questions before casting their votes.
An RFA is an independent agency to provide fire/EMS with one governing board representing residents in both cities collectively. The RFA would offer a higher level of service for residents, streamline operations, and provide a fairer and more cost-effective funding model for fire and emergency medical services.

These sessions will feature presentations from subject matter experts, followed by a question-and-answer period where residents can discuss the proposal in more detail. This is a great opportunity to learn about the potential impact on the community and clarify any questions before the election.
