Biography
The Community Engagement Manager provides executive assistance and confidential support to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, and the Human Resources Director; serving as a member of the city leadership team. She is responsible for attending council meetings overseeing the production and recording of meetings and monitoring the need for upgraded technology. She focuses on a broad range of public affairs, communication issues, and policies. She assists in oversight of the city’s website, organizes city sponsored events, and serves as a liaison between the city and various community groups, such as Meals-on-Wheels, Refuel Washougal, Washougal School District, and other organizations within the community. Rose, along with the communication specialist, acts as the City’s initial point of contact for all media relations and public information programs. Her mission is to connect with citizens and organizations to enhance and develop partnerships creating a true sense of community. Rose a board member for ReFuel Washougal and Camas/Washougal Salvation Army.
Professional Background
Rose joined the City in 1997, working in Community Development through 2011, at which time she became the Assistant to the City Administrator and Mayor. Prior to joining the city, she was employed by the Washougal School District, Liberty Mutual Insurance, City of Portland Water Bureau, and the City of St. Helens Public Library. She is a graduate of the Sharon Lance School of Business and has Professional Certifications through Community Mediation Services (CMS), National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), and Public Engagement through Pepperdine School of Public Policy Davenport Institute.
