Building

The Building Division team of the Community Development Department are responsible for:

• Assuring contractors are properly licensed
• Issuing permits
• Maintaining construction records
• Performing inspections
• Receiving building permit applications
• Reviewing plans for compliance with the Washington State Building Code
• Routing applications to other departments for review

We strive to understand and properly balance our role as a regulator vs. facilitator to focus on positive outcome rather than bureaucratic processes.
