Parks

Washougal provides a variety of parks and amenities to serve a broad range of community interests. Our public park program began in 1901 through receipt of a land donation along the Washougal River by the Hathaway family. Today, the City of Washougal owns and operates 14 parks, one public cemetery, one community garden, and several acres of undeveloped open space. Additionally, our friends at Clark County and The Port of Camas-Washougal own and operate a total of 5 parks located within Washougal along the Columbia River, providing additional access to our natural beauty.

Trails

Washougal enjoys a robust network of trails providing access to our parks and nature. We envision a trail system that safely connects pedestrians and bicyclists to all of our parks and to other regional trail systems.

Recreation

Recreation programs are an important part of healthy and vibrant communities. Thanks to our friends with the Washougal Senior Association, Washougal Library, Washougal School District and others, our residents enjoy many opportunities to recreate, but more options are still needed. Our Strategic Plan directs staff to explore partnerships and new funding strategies that will enhance recreational offerings for Washougal residents.
