By actively engaging the community, the City aims to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that reflects the needs and aspirations of its diverse population.
The Community Engagement Team is dedicated to cultivating a community that is well-connected and supportive of one another’s efforts and is pleased and honored to serve the Washougal Community.
Rose Jewell joined the City of Washougal in 1997 and has served in a variety of roles, including providing executive administrative support in Community Development and serving as assistant to several Mayors, Councils, and the City Manager. In 2020, she became the City’s Community Engagement Manager. In this role she develops, leads, and champions a comprehensive engagement strategy to increase public awareness of City initiatives, programs, services, policies, and events including the Citizens Academy and Community Market. She plans, organizes, and oversees City-sponsored special events, coordinates support for public events utilizing City facilities, and represents the City in outreach efforts that foster connections and strengthen relationships to enhance community involvement such as serving on city boards and commissions.
Megan Anderson joined the Community Services Team as the Community Engagement Coordinator in February 2025. She supports community engagement with recognition efforts, facility rentals, City and community events, volunteer coordination, the Citizens Academy, recreation programs, and related activities. This position also assists with recreation programming and manages the general administrative functions of the community center and other rented facilities. Megan manages the website special event calendar, cooling stations, resource guides, park reservations, and so much more.
